MedEx Medical Transport, founded in 2010 and headquartered in Ahoskie, North Carolina, has established itself as a leader in the field of private medical transportation services in the state of North Carolina. Since its inception, MedEx has grown to over 200 dedicated employees with a fleet of 90 vehicles and has become one of North Carolina’s largest privately owned, locally operated ambulance companies.

MedEx offers all forms of pre and post hospital healthcare, ranging from Wheelchair Van Services to Critical Care Transport. Our service area extends across the state with nine franchised counties and eight office locations. We deliver unparalleled customer service through our 24/7/365 state-of-the-art Communications Center that is backed by our professional staff of Telecommunicators. All ambulances are staffed with highly-trained and state certified personnel who deliver only top-notch care and lead the way to make MedEx the ambulance service of choice.

MedEx is contracted with hospitals, nursing homes, home health and hospice agencies, managed care organizations and most major insurance companies to provide highly reliable, on-time non-emergency medical transportation. Our large fleet of late model ambulances feature state-of-the-art medical equipment, advanced communication and vehicle-tracking systems, mobile computers and WiFi internet. Our Communications Center and Patient Accounts Department utilize industry-leading software to help streamline efficiency throughout each step of the patient care process.

The management team at MedEx is supported by our regional staff, creating a tremendous depth of experience in customer service, operations management, communications, clinical services, reimbursement, fleet maintenance, and safety and risk management.
